Ibn Abbas asked Ka’b al-Ahbar to tell him how did he find the description/characteristics of the prophet ﷺ in the Torah.  Ka’b (may Allaah have mercy on him) said ” Muhammad bin Abdullah ﷺ will born in Makkah. He will migrate to Tabba[1] and his kingdom will extend till Sham ( Syria and surroundings). He will not be obscene and nor will he be loud in the marketplaces. He will not repay evil with evil, but will deal with pardon and forgiveness. His Ummah will do abundance Hamd of Allah. In every happiness and distress they will glorify Allah. At every raised station/ or (at every victory granted) they will proclaim his greatness ( Allahu Akbar). They will perform ablutions(washing) of their limbs. Their lower garment (izar) will come down to their shins. They will line up in prayer as they line up in a battalion. Their voices (recitation and remembrance) in their mosque’s will be like the buzzing of bees. And the call of their caller (Azan of Muazzin) will be heard in the distant sky.

Also in Tabqaat ibn Sa’ad 1/2/6. Imam Bukhari narrates a similar tradition of the description of the prophet in Torah (Old Testament) on account of Amr bin Al-Aas which matches with this hadith here. See Sahih Bukhari 2125.

Kaʽb al-Aḥbār was a Jewish Revert to Islam from the second generation (Taba). He met Umar bin al Khattab, Ibn Abbas Ibn Amr Ibn Az-Zubair , Abu Hurairah and many companions.

Grade: Sahih (Darussalam)

( Chapter on the description of the Prophet ﷺ and his coming in previous books , Volume 1, Hadith No.8 Sunan Daarmi )

This very description of Prophet Muhammad’s is given in the Bible to this day. I am including here what it says below in the book of Isaiah

Isaiah 42:1–4

The Servant, a Light to the Nations

42 Here is my servant, whom I uphold,

my chosen, in whom my soul delights;

I have put my spirit upon him;

he will bring forth justice to the nations.

2 He will not cry or lift up his voice,

or make it heard in the street;

3 a bruised reed he will not break,

and a dimly burning wick he will not quench;

he will faithfully bring forth justice.

4 He will not grow faint or be crushed

until he has established justice in the earth;

and the coastlands wait for his teaching.

[1] Tabba, Taibah, Yathreb and Dar Al-Hijrah are different names for one city, Al-Madinah. Taibah is derived from the Arabic word meaning kindness. Imam Muslim gives this heading on the names of Medina Chapter: Al-Madinah eliminates its Dross and it is also called Tabah, and Taibah. Then he includes this hadith

Jabir b. Samura (Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) say:

“Allah named Medina as Tabba.” Sahih Muslim 1385

Note: Abu Farwa  (أبي فروة ) one of the narrators is Majhool (unknown). Ibn Hibban sees Abu Farwa as
Urwa bin Al-Harith Abu Farwa Al-Hamdani al-Kufi who is trustworthy. If that is the the case then this Hadith is Sahih.
And Allah knows Best.
