It is reported that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
In the valley of Al-`Aqiq[1], I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying, ” Tonight a messenger came to me from my Lord and asked me to pray in this blessed valley and to assume Ihram for Hajj and `Umra together. “
Al-Walid ibn Muslim (One of the trasnmitters) said: “This refers to the (valley) of Dhul–Kifl.”
This hadeeth was narrated by Ahmad 1/24, al-Bukhari 1534, 2337 and Abu Dawud 1800.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See “Sahih al-jami ‘as-sagir” 58, “Irvaul-jalil” 1005.
