ابدأْ بِنَفْسِكَ فَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْهَا فإنْ فَضَلَ شَيْءٌ فَلأهْلِكَ فَإنْ فَضَلَ شَيْءٌ عَنْ أهْلِكَ فَلِذِي قَرَابَتِكَ فَإنْ فَضَلَ عَنْ ذِي قَرَابْءٌ
It is reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
“ Begin alms / sadakya / with yourself. If something remains, give it to your family. If it still remains, then to the relatives, if it remains, then give it in the same way (that is, from the next of kin to the far) ”.
This hadith was conveyed by al-Nasai 2532 from the words of Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him. Also in “Irwa-al-Ghalil” (833), “Mukhtasar Muslim” (883).
