It is reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
“I was brought al-Buraq which is an animal white and long, who would place its footstep a distance equal to what the eye can capture. And Jibril and I sat on it until I came to Baitul-Maqdis, after which the gates of heaven were opened for me, and I saw Paradise and Hell. ”
This hadith was transmitted by Ahmad (5/392, 394), Abu Ya’lya, Ibn Hibban (45), al-Hakim (2/359) and ad-Diya al-Maqdisi from the words of Huzayfa ibn al-Yaman, may he be pleased with him Allah.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith good. See “Sahih al-Jami ‘al-sagir” (128), “al-Silsil al-sahih” (874).
