آمِرُوا النِّسَاءَ في أنْفُسِهِنَّ فإِنَّ الثَّيِّبَ تُعْرِبُ عَنْ نَفْسِهَا وإذْنُ البِكْرِ صَمْتُها
According to the words of al-‘Ursa ibn’ Amira, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Consult with women (regarding the issue of their marriage), for the divorced woman should express her opinion, and the virgin’s consent is her silence .”
This hadith was transmitted by al-Tabarani in al-Mu’jam al-Kabir (17/138) and al-Bayhaqi in (7/123); Irwa Al-Ghalil (1836).
