آمركم بثلاث وأنهاكم عن ثلاث آمركم أن تعبدوا الله ولا تشركوا به شيئا وأن تعتصموا بحبل الله جميعا ولا تفرقوا وتسمعوا وتطيعوا لمن ولاه الله أمركم وأنهاكم عن قيل وقال وكثرة السؤال وإضاعة المال
From Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “I command you three things and forbid you three things. I command you to worship Allah and not to associate anything with Him, and that you hold fast to the rope of Allah altogether and do not become divided, and to hear and obey those to whom Allah has given authority over you. And I forbid you to engage in gossip, asking too many questions and squandering property.
This hadith was recorded by Abu Nu’aym in Hilyat Al Awliya (8/329), and in al-Silsila as-sahiha (685).
