«إذا اصطحب رجلان مسلمان فحال بينهما شجر أو حجر أو مدر فليسلم أحدهما على الآخر ويتباذلوا السلام» .

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“If two Muslims walk together and there is an obstacle in the form a tree, or a stone or a mound comes in between them, then let one of them greet the other and exchange the greeting of salam.”
This hadith was narrated by al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab al-Iman (8860) from the words of Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith good. See Saheeh al-Jami ‘as-saghir (355).
