«إذا تطهر الرجل ثم مر إلى المسجد يرعى الصلاة كتب له كاتبه بكل خطوة يخطوها إلى المسجد عشر حسنات و القاعد يرعى الصلاة كالقانت و يكتب من المصلين من حين يخرج من بيته حتى يرجع إليه»

434 – It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“If a person purifies himself and then goes to the mosque[1], wanting to pray, then his scribe (an angel who writes down good deeds) writes for him ten good deeds for each step, which he will make towards the mosque. And the one who sits in anticipation of the prayer is like the one standing up for the prayer and he is recorded among the worshipers from the time he left his house and until he returns there. ”
This hadith was narrated by Ahmad 4/157, Ibn Hibban 2045, al-Hakim 1/211, al-Bayhaqi 3/63 from the words of ‘Uqba ibn’ Amir. Al-Hakim said: “An authentic hadith, corresponding to the conditions of Muslim,” and al-Dhahabi agreed with him.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Sahih al-jami ‘as-sagyir 434.
