It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“If any of you wants to marry your daughter, let him ask about her consent.”
This hadith was narrated by at-Tabarani from the words of Abu Musa.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Sahih al-jami ‘as-saghir 300 and As-Silsila as-sahiha 1206.
