It is reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

“Oh people! Do you like to be diligent in supplication / du’a ? (Then) say: Allahumma a’inna ala shukrika, wa zikrika, wa husni ‘ibadatika!”

Meaning of Dua

O Allah, help us to thank you, remember you, and properly worship you.

This hadeeth was transmitted by Ahmad 2/299, al-Hakim 1/499 and Abu Nu’aym to Hilyatul-auliyya 9/223 according to Abu Huraira.

Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See “Sahih al-jami ‘as-sagir” 81, “al-Silsil as-sahiha” 844.
