It is reported , that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, said:
“Jibril came to me from Allah Blessed and Exalted be He, and said: “ O Muhammad! Truly Great and Almighty Allah says: “(O Muhammad), truly, I have obliged your Ummah to perform five prayers. And the one who will perform them (as required) with ablution, at the appropriate times for them, and performing (correctly) bows and prostrations, for him will receive from me a promise (guarantee) that I will admit him to paradise. The one who will meet Me, having fallen short of one of these, there is no promise (guarantee) from Me, and if I want, I will punish him, and if I want, I will have mercy on him.”
