«إذا أفضى أحدكم بيده إلى فرجه وليس بينه وبينها حجاب ولا ستر فقد وجب عليه الوضوء» .

It is narrated from the words of Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“If any of you touches your genitals with your hand, without any obstacle or barrier between them [1] , then he is obliged to perform ablution.”
This hadith was narrated by al-Shafi’i, Ibn Hibban 1118, ad-Darakutni 542, al-Hakim 472, al-Bayhakyi 1/132.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Saheeh al-jami ‘as-saghir 362.
Grade: صحيح
