«إذا انتعل أحدكم فليبدأ باليمنى و إذا خلع فليبدأ باليسرى لتكون اليمنى أولهما تنعل و آخرهما تنزع»
(حم م د ت ه) عن أبي هريرة.
It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“When one of you starts to put on shoes, let him start with the right (shoe), and if he takes off (shoes), let him start from the left so that the right one should be the first to be put on and the last to be taken off. ”
This hadith was narrated by Ahmad 2/233, Muslim 2097, Abu Dawud 4139, at-Tirmidhi 1779 and Ibn Majah 3616 from the words of Abu Huraira.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Saheeh al-Jami ‘al-saghir 398.

The version of this hadith that was narrated by Muslim says:“… and he should wear both of them or take both off.”
