إذا أممت الناس: فاقرأ بـ (الشمس و ضحاها) و (سبح اسم ربك الأعلى) (و الليل إذا يغشى)
(م) عن جابر.
It is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to Mu’adh:
“If you lead people in a congregational prayer, then recite (surah)” I swear by the sun and its radiance … “ [1] ,” Glory to the name of your Lord your most High … “ [2] and “I swear in the night when it covers …” [3] ”
This hadith narrated by Muslim 465 from the words of Jabir.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See “Sahih al-jami ‘as-sagir” 393.
Note: It is reported that Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, said that Mu’adh directed the evening prayer and greatly lengthened it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O Mu’az! Do you want to become a trial for the people ? If you lead people in group prayer, then read … .. “.
