إذا أكل أحدكم فليأكل بيمينه وليشرب بيمينه وليأخذ بيمينه وليعط بيمينه فإن الشيطان يأكل بشماله ويشرب بشماله ويأخذ بشماله ويعطي بشماله .
(صحيح) … [الحسن بن سفيان في مسنده] عن أبي هريرة. الصحيحة 1236: ابن ماجه.
It is narrated from the words of Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“When any of you intends to eat, let him eat with his right hand, drink with his right hand, take with his right hand and give with his right hand, for verily, the shaitan eats with his left hand, drinks with his left hand, takes with his left hand and gives with his left hand!”
This hadith was narrated by Ibn Majah 3266 and al-Hasan ibn Sufyan in their Musnad. Hafiz al-Busairi confirmed the authenticity of this hadith. See al-Zawaid 1/197.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Saheeh al-jami ‘as-sagyir 384.
