إذا أكل أحدكم طعاما فليقل: اللهم بارك لنا فيه وأبدلنا خيرا منه وإذا شرب لبنا فليقل: اللهم بارك لنا فيه وزدنا منه فإنه ليس شيء يجزي من الطعام والشراب إلا اللبن» .
(حسن) … [حم د ت هـ هب] عن ابن عباس. المشكاة 4283.
It is narrated from the words of ‘Abdullah ibn’ Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“When one of you eats food, he should say: “O Allah, bless us in it, and give us food (or nourishment) better than it. “
(Allahumma barik lana fihi wa abdilna khayran minhu)
When he is given milk to drink he should say: “O Allah! bless us in it and give us more of it” (Allahumma barik lana fihi wa zidna minhu) , for no food or drink satisfies like milk.”
This hadith was narrated by Ahmad 1/225, 284, Abu Daud 3730, at-Tirmidhi 3455, Ibn Majah 3322 and al-Bayhaqyi in Shu’ab al-Iman 5957.
