إذا اكْتَحَلَ أحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَكْتَحِلْ وِتْراً وإذا اسْتَجْمَرَ فَلْيَسْتَجْمِرْ وِتْراً
حسن. حم عن أبي هريرة. الأحاديث الصحيحة 1260.
It is narrated from the words of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“If one of you applies kohl to his eyes, let him apply them an odd number of times, and if he cleans himself with stones (after stool), let him cleanse an odd number of times.” This hadith was narrated by Ahmad 2/351.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith good. See Saheeh al-jami ‘as-saghir 375.
