احشدوا فإني سأقرأ عليكم ثلث القرآن1 فقرأ: {قل هو الله أحد} , وقال: ألا إنها تعدل ثلث القرآن» .

It is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Get together, and verily, I will read you a third of the Qur’an.” And he read: “Say:” He is Allah One “/ Qul: huwa-Llahu Ahad / [1]”, after which he said: “Indeed, it is equal to a third of the Qur’an!”.
This hadith was narrated by Ahmad (2/429), Muslim (812) and at-Tirmidhi (2900) from the words of Abu Hurayra, may Allah be pleased with him.
