احتجت الجنة والنار فقالت الجنة: يدخلني الضعفاء والمساكين, وقالت النار: يدخلني الجبارون والمتكبرون: فقال الله للنار: أنت عذابي أنتقم بك ممن شئت, وقال للجنة: أنت رحمتي أرحم بك من شئت ولكل واحدة منكما ملؤها» .
(صحيح) … [م ت] عن أبي هريرة [م] عن أبي سعيد [ابن خزيمة] عن أنس)
It is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“(Once) Paradise and Hell entered into a dispute between themselves, and Paradise said:“ The weak and poor people will enter into me [1] ”. Hell said: “(They will be) in me cruel [2] and arrogant,” and Allah said to Hell: “You are My punishment, with which I will punish whoever I wish.” And He said to Paradise: “You are My mercy, which I will show to whom I wish, and each of you will be filled!”
This hadith was narrated by Muslim (2846) and at-Tirmidhi (2561) from the words of Abu Hurayra; Muslim (2847) from the words of Abu Sa’id; Ibn Khuzaimah according to Anas, may Allah be pleased with them.
The hadith is authentic. See Saheeh al-Jami ‘as-saghir (185).

[1] The poor people whomsoever oppressed and they lived a life of adversity and oppression from people.
[2] This refers to those who forcefully subordinate others to their will.
