«إذا أراد الله بعبده الخير عجل له العقوبة في الدنيا وإذا أراد بعبده الشر أمسك عنه بذنبه حتى يوافي به يوم القيامة» .

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“If Allah wishes good for His servant , He hastens his punishment in this world, and when Allah wishes evil for His servant, He does not (punish) him for his sins in order to fully repay him on the Day of Resurrection.”
This hadith was narrated by at-Tirmidhi (2396), al-Hakim (4/651) from the words of Anas; at-Tabarani, al-Hakim and al-Bayhakyi in Shu’ab al-Iman from the words of ‘Abdullah ibn Mugaffal; at-Tabarani from the words of ‘Ammar ibn Yasir; Ibn ‘Adi in al-Kamil, according to Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with them.
