Shaykh-ul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah – may Allāh have mercy on him – said: “Gathering people for food on the two ‘Īds and the days of Tashrīq is Sunnah and it is from the symbols of al-Islām which Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ established.”
