بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

عن معاوية رضي الله عنه قال سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول : المؤذنون اطول الناس اعناقا يوم القيامة (مسلم)

Translation

Hazrat Mu’awiyah رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasulullah صلي الله عليه وسلم said: The Mu’adhinoon (plural of mu’adhin) will have the longest necks on the day of Qiyaamah.

NOTE

The virtue of a Mu’adhin is mentioned in this Hadeeth, having the longest means they will have high ranks on the day of Qiyaamah and people will be able to identify by this rank.

Nowadays a Mu’adhin is thought to be a low profile person and one who must Clean the Masjid etc, whereas he has a high risk and status in the sight of ALLAH TA’AALA and must be respected for he is the amongst those who are calling to Salaah and making apperant the Signs of Deen.

May ALLAH TA’AALA grant one and all the ability to respect and honour the Mu’adhinoon.
