أتَدْرُونَ ما العَضَهُ؟ نَقْلُ الحديثِ مِنْ بَعضِ النَّاسِ إلى بعضٍ لِيُفْسِدُوا بَيْنَهُمْ
(خد هق) عن أنس.)
It is reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
“Do you know what backbiting/gossiping is? It is conveying the speech of people to others in order to ruin their relationship. ”
This hadeeth was transmitted by al-Bukhari to al-Adabul-mufrad (425) and al-Baykhaky (10/246) according to Anas ibn Malik.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See “Sahih al-Jami ‘al-sagir” (85), “al-Silsil al-sahih” (845).
