Sahih al-Jami ‘as-Sagir Hadith no. 51
It is reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
“Abu Bakr and ‘Umar are the leaders of the elder people of Paradise, and the first and the last, except for the Prophets and Messengers.”
This hadeeth was reported by Ahmad 1/80, at-Tirmizi 3665, Ibn Majah 100, Ibn ‘Asakir in “Tarih madinatul-dimashq” 30/165 from the words’ Ali; Ibn Majah from the words’ Awn ibn Abu Juhayfa; Abu Ya’lya 533, ad-Diyaya al-Makadisi in al-Muhtara 197-198 from the words of Anas; al-Tabarani in Mu’jam al-Sagir 976 from the words of Jabir and Abu Sa’id.
