It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“If you buy a product, then don’t sell it until you have taken possession of it.”
This hadith was narrated by Ahmad 3/402, al-Nasai 4603 and Ibn Hibban 4983 from the words of Hakim ibn Hizam.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Saheeh al-jami ‘as-saghir 342.
