أثقل الصلاة على المنافقين صلاة العشاء وصلاة الفجر ولو يعلمون ما فيهما لأتوهما ولو حبوا, ولقد هممت أن آمر بالصلاة فتقام ثم آمر رجلا فيصلي بالناس ثم أنطلق معي برجال معهم حزم من حطب إلى قوم لا يشهدون الصلاة فأحرق عليهم بيوتهم بالنار» .

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“The most burdensome prayers for hypocrites are the ‘Isha’ and the Fajr prayers and if they knew what (rewards) these (prayers) contain, they would have come to them (in the mosques), even though they had to crawl on their knees and I thought that I should order the prayer to be commenced and command a person to lead people in prayer, and I should then go along with some persons having a bundle of firewood with them to the people who did not attend the prayer (in congregation) and burn their houses with fire.”
This hadith was narrated by Ahmad (2/424), al-Bukhari (644 and 657), Muslim (651), Abu Dawood (548 and 554), Ibn Majah (791) from the words of Abu Hurayra, may Allah be pleased with him.
