«إذا أذن المؤذن فلا يخرج أحد حتى يصلي» .
(صحيح) … [هب] عن أبي هريرة. الترغيب 258/260: الطيالسي, حم)

It is reported that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

“The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:” If the muazzin calls the adhan, let none of you leave (from the mosque) until he prays. ”

This hadith was narrated by al-Bayhaqyi in Shu’ab al-Iman 2862.

Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Saheeh al-jami ‘as-sagyir 297.

Grade: صحيح

It says in Ghaayat al-Muntaha (Book of Hanbali Fiqh): It is haraam to leave the mosque after the adhaan and before praying without an excuse or the intention of coming back. … And it is permissible to go out if one goes out after the adhaan but it is in order to pray with the congregation in another mosque, especially if its imam is better. End quote from al-Ghaayah ma’a Mataalib Ooli al-Nuha (1/304).
