«اخرجي إليه فإنه لا يحسن الاستئذان فقولي له: فليقل: السلام عليكم أأدخل؟» .

It is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Go to this (person), for he did not ask permission (to enter) properly, and tell him to say: ‘Peace be upon you / as-salamu’ alaykum /, may I enter?”
This hadith was narrated by Ahmad 5 / 368 based on the words of one person from the Bani Hirash tribe.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Saheeh al-jami ‘as-saghir 234.

It is reported that Rib’i ibn Hirash said: “One man from the (tribe of) Banu Amir told us that he once asked the prophet who was at his home, peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him, for permission to enter, saying: “Can I come in?” Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told his maid: “Go out to this (person), teach him how to ask permission, and tell him to say:” Peace be with you, may I enter? ” “And this man listened to him, and then said:” Peace be with you, may I enter? “, After which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) allowed him to enter and he entered.”
