أحب الأسماء إلى الله عبد الله وعبد الرحمن» .

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“The most beloved names before Allah are ‘Abdullah / servant of Allah / and’ Abdu-r-Rahman / servant of the Merciful /.”
This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari in al-Adabul-mufrad (814), Muslim (2132), Abu Daud (4949), at-Tirmidhi (2833), al-Nasai (6/218), Ibn Majah (3728) according to Ibn ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with both of them.
