Shaykh Abdul-Azeez ibn Bāz [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:
“Your [true] brother is the one who counsels you, reminds you, and directs you to the straight path. Your brother is not the one who is heedless; showing you no care and attention; nor does he shun you; nor does he flatter you. Rather, your brother, in reality, is the one who counsels you, the one who admonishes you and reminds you. He calls you to Allāh [reminding you to always be mindful of Him]. He shows you the path to salvation so that you may follow it and warns you about treading the path to destruction. He keeps explaining to you how evil its [final] outcome and destination is so that you can steer clear of it.”
