Al-Imām ibn al-Qayyim [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:
“Pardoning is more beloved to Allāh than vengeance, mercy is more beloved to Him than punishment, grace is more beloved to Him than justice, and giving is more beloved to Him than withholding.”
