What Is Yawm Ash-Shak (The Day Of Doubt) & What Is The Ruling On Singling It Out With Fast?
Shaykh Muḥammad Ṣāliḥ al-‘Uthaymīn رحمه الله said: “Yawm ash-Shak (the day of doubt) is the 30th day of Sha’bān, if there was in the sky that which prevented the moon from being seen. However if the sky was clear, then there is no doubt.
Is fasting that day disliked or harām?
The answer: There is differing amongst the ‘Ulamā on this issue but what is correct is that it is harām to fast.”
