كَانَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ يَقُول :

« لَا خَيْرَ فِي الْكَلَامِ إِلَّا فِي تِسْعٍ:

❶ – تَهْلِيلٍ،

❷ -وَتَكْبِيرٍ،

❸ -وَتَسْبِيحٍ،

❹ -وَتَحْمِيدٍ،

❺ -وَسُؤَالِكَ عَنِ الْخَيْرِ،

➏ -وَتَعَوُّذِكَ مِنَ الشَّرِّ،

➐ -وَأَمْرِكَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ،

❽ -وَنَهْيِكَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ،

❾ -وَقِرَاءَتِكَ الْقُرْآنَ “

Rabī’ ibn Khuthaym used to say:

“There is no good in speech except in nine (matters):

1- Tahlīl (saying: Lā ilāha illa Allāh)

2- Takbīr (saying: Allāhu Akbar)

3- Tasbīh (saying: Subhān Allāh)

4- Tahmīd (saying: Al-Hamdu lillāh)

5- your asking about good

6- your seeking refuge from evil

7- your commanding the good

8- your forbidding the evil

9- your recitation of the Qur’ān.”
