Abū ‘Uthmān:
‘Īsā عليه الصلاة والسلام once prayed on top of a mountain when Iblīs came to him and said, “You are the one who claims that everything happens by predestination and divine decree?”
He replied, “Yes.”
Iblīs said, “Then throw yourself off this mountain and say: ‘It was decreed for me’.
He replied, “O cursed one! Verily, it is Allāh who tests His slaves and it is not for the slave to test Allāh!”
