Al-Imām ibn al-Jawzi [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

“[The parable of the blessed month of] Ramadān to the other months is like Yūsuf [عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم] to his brothers. Therefore, just as Yūsuf was the most beloved son to [his father] Ya’qūb [عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم], [the blessed month of] Ramadān is likewise the most beloved month to [Allāh] the Knower of the unseen.”
