Shaykh ibn ‘Uthaymeen [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:
“The good deeds performed during the [first] ten days of Dhul-Hijjah and from amongst them fasting, is more beloved to Allāh than the good deeds performed in the last ten days of [the blessed month of] Ramadān. Mankind is neglectful of these ten days of Dhul-hijjah. People pass by these days with their usual habits, you do not find any increase in reading the Qur’ān nor any other acts of worship; to the extent of being stingy in uttering the takbeer!”
