Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the most beloved words to Allah are these:
Glory and praise be to you, O Allah, blessed is your name and exalted is your majesty and there is no God but you.
(‘Subhaanak Allaahumma wa bihamdika wa tabaarakasmuka wa ta’aalaa jad-duka wa laa ilaaha ghayruk’).
Verily, the most hateful words to Allah are that a man tells another man to fear Allah and he says: Mind your own self.”
This hadith was narrated by Ibn Mandah in at-Tawhid 2/132, al-Asbahani in at-Targib 739, al-Nasai in ‘Amalul-yumi wa-l-layila’ 849, al-Bayhaqi in Shu ‘ ab al-Iman “1/359, and Al-Albaanee authenticated it in Silsilatul-Ahaadees-as-Saheehah (2598)
