Abul-‘Ulā’a, Hilāl bin Khabbāb said: “I asked Sa’eed bin Jubayr [may Allāh have mercy on him]:
‘What is a sign of the Hour and what is a sign that the people have destroyed themselves?
He replied: ‘When their scholars have departed [by way of death and due to this, the people became heedless and misguided].’”
