Ya‘qūb bin Bukhtān, [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him], said:

“I had seven daughters and every time a daughter was born, [Imām] Ahmad bin Hambal, [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him], would visit me and say:

‘O’ Abā Yūsuf! The Prophets were fathers to [mostly] daughters. His speech would then overcome my sorrow.’”
