The Destructive Love

Al Allamah “Shaikh Rabee’Al Madkhali حفظه الله said:

“The love of praise is a Fitnah (a tribulation). O brothers, the love of praise is a tribulation. The love of people’s compliments leads you to Riya’ (showing off, i.e. doing deeds for other than Allah’s sake alone) and to destruction and ruination and we seek refuge in Allah.”
