فالعمل الصالح في أيام عشر ذي الحجة ومن ذلك الصوم أحب إلى الله من العمل الصالح في العشر الأواخر من رمضان، ومع ذلك فالأيام العشر من ذي الحجة، الناس في غفلة عنها، تَمُرُّ والناس على عاداتهم لا تجد زيادة في قراءة القرآن، ولا العبادات الأخرى بل حتى التكبير بعضهم يشح به

Shaykh Muhammad bin Sālih al-‘Uthaymeen [may Allāh have mercy on him]
“Righteous actions, and from them fasting, in the [first] ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are more beloved to Allāh than righteous actions in the last ten days of [the blessed month of] Ramadān.
*Yet people are heedless of the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah;* the days lapse and the people continue with their normals ways. You find no increase in recitation of the Qur’ān or other acts of worship, rather some of them are even stingy with the _takbeer_ [uttering Allāhu Akbar (rememberance and commemoration [of Allāh].”
