قال الإمام ابن القيم رحمه الله:

«أمراض القلوب أصعب من أمراض الأبدان، لأن غاية مرض البدن أن يُفضي بصاحبه إلى الموت، وأما مرض القلب فيُفضي بصاحبه إلى الشقاء الأبدي، ولا شفاء لهذا المرض إلا بالعلم».

Ibn Al-Qayyim said,

“The illness [sickness] of the heart is more difficult [more severe] then the illness of the limbs/body because the objective of the illness of the limbs/body it will lead the person to death [nothing else]. But as for the illness [sickness] of the heart, it will lead the person to eternal suffering. There is no cure [for the sickness of the heart] except by [gaining beneficial] knowledge”
