ʿAbd al-Allāh Ibn Mubārak – May Allāh have mercy upon him – was asked about an issue in the presence of Sufyān bin ʿUyaynah – May Allāh have mercy upon him – So he said:
❝Indeed we are forbidden to speak in the presence of our elders.❞
