It is reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
“Do you know the first group of people from my ummah who will go to Paradise? The poor Muhajireen will come to the gates of paradise on Judgment Day, the gates will be opened for them and the keeper will ask them: “Have you already been accounted for?[1]” They will answer: “And for what should we be accountable, because our swords were on our shoulders on the path of Allah, until we died in that state.” And they will be opened (the gates of paradise) and they will rest there for forty years before the (other) people get to enter. ”
This hadith was transmitted by al-Hakim 2/70 and al-Bayhakyi to Shu’ab al-Iman 4/28 from the clones of ‘Abdullah ibn’ Amr.
Al-Hakim said: “A reliable hadith corresponding to the conditions of al-Bukhari and Muslim,” and al-Zahabi agreed with him.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See “Sahih al-jami ‘as-sagir” 96, “as-Silsil as-sahiha” 853.
[1] The Angles will be astonished as they were expecting all people to first go through accountability but that will not be the case for the poor Muhajirs.
