473 The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is reported to have said:
“Take what ever comes to you of this money without being keen on it, and don’t ask (for wealth), but if (you don’t get anything), then let your soul not strive for it!”
This hadeeth was narrated by al-Bukhari 7163 from the words of ‘ Umar.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadeeth authentic. See Sahih al-Jami’ as-Saghir 473.

إذا جاءك من هذا المال شيء و أنت غير مستشرف و لا سائل فخذه و ما لا فلا تتبعه نفسك
