469 – It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“When the servant of anyone of you brings his food, let him make him sit down with him or give him some of it, for he is the one who put up with its heat and smoke [1].”
This hadith was narrated by Ahmad 1/388 and Ibn Majah 3291 from the words of Ibn Mas’ud.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Saheeh al-jami ‘as-saghir 469.
[1] That is, he saw it, smelled it, and longs to taste it the same way.
