464 – It is reported that Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
“The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If any of you comes (to the mosque) on Friday, while the imam is delivering the Khutba, let him pray two rak’ats and (perform) them briefly””. This hadith was narrated by Ahmad 3/297, al-Bukhari 1166, Muslim 875, Abu Dawood 1117, an-Nasai 3/101, Ibn Majah 1114.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Saheeh al-jami ‘as-saghir 464.

إذا جاء أحدُكُم يَوْمَ الجُمُعَةِ والإِمامُ يَخْطُبُ فَلْيُصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وليَتَجَوَّزْ فِيهِما
