أتيت ليلة أسري بي فانطلق بي إلى زمزم فشرح عن صدري ثم غسل بماء زمزم ثم أنزل» .

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“On the night of (my) ascension (to heaven) (angels) came to me and took me to Zamzam. There they opened my chest and then washed (my heart) with water from Zamzam, and then put it back. “
This hadith was narrated by Muslim (162) from the words of Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him.
