By almaas Apr 27, 2021

432 – It is reported that Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“When any of you (sits down) to read tashahhud, let him resort to the protection of Allah from four (things): from the torment of Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the temptations of life and death, and from the evil of the Antichrist (Dajjal), and then let him turn with the prayer that pleases him. “

This hadith was narrated by Al-Nasai 1310.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Sahih al-jami ‘as-saghir 432.

Note: Many Imams consider this dua to be a obligatory for the conclusion of the prayer including Sheikh Al-Albani to the extent that it be repeated if missed. See Sahih Muslim 590 for evidence.
