“إذا تثاءب أحدكم فليضع يده على فيه فإن الشيطان يدخل مع التثاؤب”
(حم ق د) عن أبي سعيد.
426 – It is narrated from the words of Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“If any of you (wants to) yawn, let him cover his mouth with his hand, (for otherwise) the shaitan will surely enter him along with the yawn. ”
This hadith was narrated by Ahmad 3/31, al-Bukhari in al-Adab al-mufrad 949, Muslim 2995, Abu Dawud 5026.
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith authentic. See Saheeh al-jami ‘as-saghir 426.
